GRETA VAN FLEET - LIVE AT CHAIFETZ

On April 27th, 2024, St. Louis, Missouri witnessed the much-anticipated return of Greta Van Fleet, marking the beginning of the second leg of their Starcatcher tour. After a six-year wait, fans from across the state and the Midwest converged upon Chaifetz Arena, resulting in a sold-out show. Joining them were special guests Geese and Jake Kiszka's new band, Mirador, featuring Chris Turpin of Ida Mae.

Mirador's debut performance captivated the audience, offering a glimpse into Jake Kiszka's unique musical style apart from his work with Greta Van Fleet. With Chris Turpin by his side, Jake delivered a mesmerizing performance, showcasing his personal artistic vision. Geese injected an eclectic energy into the night with their diverse sound, setting the stage perfectly for Greta Van Fleet's entrance.

The band kicked off the show with their signature vigor, opening with "The Falling Sky." The addition of pyrotechnics and fire enhanced the atmosphere, captivating the audience from the start. Members of the band sported new outfits, complemented by radiant smiles, while fans adorned themselves with tassels, rhinestones, and glitter, adding to the spectacle of the evening. Josh playfully acknowledged the audience's sartorial efforts, humorously remarking, "Once again, I feel underdressed at my own show."

A poignant moment occurred during the performance of "The Archer," orchestrated by long-time fan Sophie Wortman, who organized a special tribute to two departed friends, Emily Morton and Jayda Fulkerson. As the crowd held up blue and orange slips of paper in their honor, the arena was filled with a sense of remembrance and unity. Drummer Daniel Wagner later expressed the profound impact of witnessing their lights shining brightly during the tribute.

For those yet to experience the magic of Greta Van Fleet live, I wholeheartedly recommend attending one of their shows. Beyond the electrifying performances and captivating music, it's an evening that resonates both emotionally and physically. Whether you opt for a general admission ticket or prefer a seated view, it's an experience that promises to leave a lasting impression. So, when Greta Van Fleet comes to your town, seize the opportunity to be part of a night to remember.
