HALOCENE - LIVE IN IOWA CITY

When Halocene and No Resolve rolled into Iowa City on September 22nd, anticipation hung in the air. The evening kicked off with a burst of energy from the openers Hooked Like Helen and The Haunt, along with a local addition, NonGrata. These talented acts warmed up the crowd and set the tone for the night ahead.

As the anticipation reached its peak, Halocene took the stage amidst a thunderous roar from the crowd. They wasted no time and launched into their set with their hit track, "Maleficent." Lead singer Addie Nicole Amick's presence was nothing short of mesmerizing, instantly captivating the audience with her raw talent and infectious energy. The crowd sang their hearts out, joining her in a harmonious chorus that reverberated through the venue.

Throughout their set, Halocene delighted fans with a perfect blend of original songs and carefully chosen covers. From classics to contemporary hits, every note struck a chord with the audience, who eagerly sang along. Amick's charisma was palpable, and her interactions with the crowd only fueled the electric atmosphere. When the band wrapped up their set, there was a collective sense of sadness as they left the stage.

Fortunately, the night was far from over. No Resolve took the stage shortly after, and frontman Oscar Pegorraro wasted no time in getting the crowd pumped up. His charisma and stage presence were unlike anything I'd seen before. Not only did he possess an impressive vocal range, but the man sure had some dance moves to boot.

No Resolve, like Halocene, played a delightful mix of original songs and covers, including unexpected Disney classics that had some of the younger concertgoers singing along enthusiastically. The band's interactions with the crowd were a definite highlight of the evening. Pegorraro, in particular, demonstrated a genuine connection with the fans. At one point, he learned it was someone's first rock concert, and he sat down on the risers to share a moment with them. It was a touching reminder that these artists genuinely care about their supporters.

In summary, the night was filled with great music and unforgettable performances. Halocene and No Resolve proved to be not just talented musicians but exceptional entertainers who left a lasting impression on Iowa City. Their tour continues through early October, so be sure to catch them if they are playing near you!
