Joybomb - Visions!

Last Friday on September 22nd, Joybomb, a Memphis-based alternative rock n’ roll group, dropped their newest single titled “Visions!” And in pure Joybomb fashion, “Visions” is loud, heavy, and insightful in the sense of allowing listeners to experience a story through someone else’s eyes.

Noticeably the track clamorously starts off with bold drum rhythms and ripping guitar solos that gradually fills up what little space of emptiness is left before diving right into the melody, wasting no time to jump into the first set of lyrics. “She’s got a vision, a cold vision.” This eludes the listener into delving into the mind of someone who may not have the most pure intentions when it comes to love.

As the song continues, the heaviness does not slow down, instead the familiar sound of thick, ponderous clamoring of instrumentals only increase as the beat gets louder. The shrills of “Visions” are matched with hardened vocals from lead singer of Joybomb, Grant Beatty. Grant provides grit to the track, helping share the feeling and point of view of the unfortunate poor soul getting played, sharing the irritation and exasperation that they’re feeling.
