WISEMARY - FLASHBANG

Wisemary is a five-piece rock and roll band based out of St. Louis. Freshly in the official music scene, they have only released a couple songs; both having been released this year. The first being " Won't Bow Down" and the second being "Flashbang".

The focus on the latter of the two, I had the honor of listening to it, and getting to share my review of the song. Right off the bat, i really enjoy the hard rock vibes that the song brings; it goes right into a hard guitar instrumental that catches attention quickly. It brings feelings of high energy and ignites the feeling of adrenaline and wanting to dance the night away.

It gives me a very bluesy rock vibe with its' heavy bass and gritty vocals. The bass rhythm is very reminiscent of a swing/folksy influence but layered with a heavy lead guitar and vocals; it combines very well with rock and roll to create a unique song. It also has a reverb added into the chorus that has a very satisfying affect to the listener; the contrast between the verse having that soulful feel, then alternating to the more pop/punk feel of the chorus makes for an overall positive experience.

I would highly recommend listening to this song if you are a fan of rock music. Young bands are starting to really blossom more, and bringing back an era of rock music that is so different from those before. Many are taking the rock music from generations past and forming it into a hybrid of many genres combined that is so fun to jam to, yet still has such an emotional effect. THIS band is no different; having only two songs, yet both of them being so unique on their own.
