Joybomb - Live in Memphis
A day before the weekend, an impromptu trip, and a low-lit atmosphere.
Joybomb is an indie-punk rock and roll band, originating from Memphis, Tennessee. Exploring the 90’s scene, influences being The Dandy Warhols, Alkaline Trio, and Rival Schools. Though they have fused together to create a unique sound, they still have that nostalgic appeal. They may be ordinary folks, but their performances are spectacular. After speaking with the band before the show, it was clear that they were enthusiastic about what they do and seemed to love every minute of it, additionally cheering on the other acts too.
The performance they gave was intriguing and captivating. I was able to witness all of it unfold by roaming between the sides of the stage and photographing the occasion, as a photographer would. There was not a moment when somebody wasn't having a good time, as the audience was dancing and joking with each other. Marching to the beat of their own drum, post-hardcore, and garage-punk meshed with an indie rock and roll vibe, throughout their discography, you're bound to discover something you appreciate. If you get a chance to make your way to a Joybomb show, you won’t be disappointed.
