Remi Wolf - Live from St. Louis

Who knew a Sunday night could be so full of energy and excitement? Remi Wolf brought her Big Ideas tour to St. Louis’ coveted Pageant on April 13th, turning the completely sold out venue into a thrift shop fashion show. Remi’s organized chaotic wardrobe inspired fans to dress all the same: eclectic, vibrant, and unapologetic.

Dana and Alden joined Remi for the night, opening the stage with some of the most killer vibes I’ve ever felt and heard. The duo, backed by a tight and charismatic band, really know how to work a crowd—effortlessly blending smooth grooves with infectious stage presence. I’ve never been one for R&B, but the indie twist the brothers bring to the genre is something entirely their own. Their sound is fresh, soulful, and completely captivating—it pulled me in from the first note and didn’t let go.

There’s no easing yourself into a performance from Remi herself. She packs a punch from the get-go. From the moment she stepped foot on the stage, she demanded the chaos and confidence the audience was giving her; and she gave it right back. Even cloaked in a golden hue diffused by a cloud of fog, the venue’s volume matched that of Remi’s own mic. She opened with her song Cherries & Cream, setting the tone for the night’s show: playful, bold and unhinged. Never have I seen a crowd more dedicated than hers. Every lyric, every beat of the drum, they sang and danced along as if the music flowed through their own veins.

She followed with Cinderella, a personal favorite of mine, and one of the best tracks to keep the energy up. The song itself is confident, sassy, and unapologetic of itself just as she is. It embraces every quirk and flips it into power that resonated with her fans just enough to have them jumping. Remi’s set contained various tracks from her new album Big Ideas, including a cover of Steely Dan’s Peg and an improvised song called Hair Muffin Boobie Cat. She ended the night with a single song encore featuring her hit from 2020 Photo ID.

Remi’s music doesn’t ask you to understand it– it dares you to feel it; just as she does. From her bold, high-voltage energetic songs to the introspective emotional undercuts, each song felt like its own show. She’s set the bar impossibly high for any show I attend after this. Eclectic, unapologetic, and wildly charismatic, Remi Wolf has the most magnetic stage presence I’ve witnessed in my career so far—and every moment she spent on stage only raised it higher.
