FALLING IN REVERSE - LIVE REVIEW

On July 8th, Falling In Reverse brought their highly anticipated Popular MonsTOUR to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, lighting up the stage at Alliant Energy Powerhouse. The night was filled with electrifying performances from special guests Ice Nine Kills, Underoath, and Catch Your Breath, making it a concert experience to remember.

Kicking off the night, Catch Your Breath set the stage on fire with their latest single, "Savages." The band's energy was infectious, getting the crowd warmed up and ready for the night ahead. To everyone's delight, they even treated the audience to an unreleased song, building anticipation and setting the bar high for the rest of the evening.

Next up was Underoath, who took the energy levels to new heights. The band's exhilarating performance had them practically bouncing off the walls throughout their set. It was impossible not to be impressed by their boundless energy and raw passion for their music. One can only wonder how many steps they must have racked up on stage, fueled by their unstoppable enthusiasm.

The excitement reached a fever pitch as Ice Nine Kills stepped into the spotlight. The crowd's anticipation was palpable, and the band did not disappoint. From the moment they launched into "Hip To Be Scared," a track inspired by the movie "American Psycho" from their latest album, it was evident that their stage presence was on another level. Frontman Spencer Charnas flawlessly embodied the character of Patrick Bateman, delivering a performance that was both chilling and captivating. With the aid of props and stage actors, Ice Nine Kills breathed life into their music in an intense and unforgettable manner. Witnessing beheadings and people cutting off their faces may not be typical concert fare, but with Ice Nine Kills, one quickly learns to expect the unexpected.

Finally, the moment everyone had been waiting for arrived as Falling In Reverse took the stage for the grand finale. Despite the tough acts that preceded them, frontman Ronnie Radke effortlessly stole the show. His infectious energy radiated throughout the venue, and his crowd interactions had everyone psyched from start to finish. Whether it was setting up the crowd for a wall of death only to launch into a surprising cover of "All Star" by Smashmouth (complete with an image of emo Shrek in the background), or playfully teasing the audience for being too old to mosh, Radke's stage presence and connection with his fans were unmatched.

As the night drew to a close, Falling In Reverse saved some of their best performances for last. While Radke left the stage to don a new costume, the band played their latest release, a cover of Papa Roach's "Last Resort." The crowd erupted in a chorus of voices, singing along passionately. When they returned to the stage, the band continued with hits like "Watch The World Burn," "Voices In My Head," and their chart-topping track, "Popular Monster." Each song was met with an outpouring of excitement, as the crowd immersed themselves in the final moments of this extraordinary night.

In summary, the Popular MonsTOUR delivered an exceptional concert experience. From Catch Your Breath's energetic opening act to Ice Nine Kills' mind-blowing theatrics and Falling In Reverse's electrifying performance, it was an evening filled with non-stop entertainment. The bands showcased their immense talent and passion, leaving the audience craving for more. If given the opportunity, I highly recommend experiencing the Popular MonsTOUR for yourself—it is undoubtedly one of the best concerts I have ever attended.
