DIRTY HONEY - WON’T TAKE ME ALIVE

Hard rock band Dirty Honey has spent the last two years traveling the world with three sold-out tours and they are right back to it with their upcoming album: Can’t Find The Brakes, recorded in Byron Bay just this April with producer Nick DiDia. The LP’s rst single titled Won’t Take Me Alive is a sample of what more is to come from the California-based group and it has fans excited for their upcoming performances both as opening acts and headliners.

In classic Dirty Honey fashion, Won’t Take Me Alive is a thrilling piece of energy bundled up in chaotic good and power. It starts o with drummer Corey Coverstone ripping into his kit like never before, so much so you can almost feel the pain in your arm muscles with every strike of the high hat. Guitar whiz John Notto builds on the drum beat with his very own Les Paul along with Justin Smolian on the bass and Marc Labelle nishes it o with his potent vocals, presenting to us the developed Dirty Honey we know today.

Lyrically, the song is pretty straightforward. It talks of Labelle’s desire for freedom and the ght for that, stating “I ain't a fighter, but you're never taking me alive. So if you're coming then you oughta know it's suicide cause you won't make me crawl when my backs to the wall. You ain't taking me alive, won't bleed me out to dry. I'll tell you like I said before; I never asked to start a war but now you know that I'd rather die. You won't take me alive” (Verse 1 & Chorus). A common theme in the band’s writing has revolved around the idea of personal growth and putting oneself rst; making this a trademarked Dirty Honey work.

After this single release, Dirty Honey has their sophomore album Can’t Find The Brakes impending along with shows with Guns N’ Roses and a headlining tour this fall and winter.
