HANNAH WICKLUND - HELL IN THE HALLWAY

“A story of perseverance and strength through defying the twisted whispers spoken by snakes. When one door closes, another opens, but there’s always Hell in the Hallway...”

Up-and-coming rock soloist, Hannah Wicklund, has released a fourth single titled Hell in the Hallway off of her upcoming album The Prize. Produced by Sam Kiszka, this new string of songs poses as a new step for both him and Wicklund, reigning in an era of bigger, better things.

The South Carolina native has been in and around the rock arena of music for quite some time, and that is evident through her work. In 2018, Wicklund released her debut album titled Hannah Wicklund and the Steppin’ Stones at the age of 21. Prior to this, however, Wicklund has worked her ass off from a young age to get to where she is (and where she’s going) by rocking out as a mere teenager. After opening for Greta Van Fleet last year, she’s looking to leave an even bigger imprint on the world by her own terms with this new music.

Hell in the Hallway is dedicated to Wicklunds ex-manager, as stated by the artist herself. Being a woman in rock, she’s dealt with the brunt of sexism and manipulation that often finds itself in this industry and you can hear her grit clear as day. It is not often that you hear a song so pungent with valor and experience that it moves you, but I can say with confidence that Wicklund has become a pro at it. She melds herself into every aspect of her work; whether it be her music or the art pieces she often creates. You can just sense that this young woman has quite the story to tell and she won’t be silenced.

The cinematic nature of the instrumentals on top of her emotive vocal style serves as a fantastic vessel for her to speak her truth and I believe it is safe to say that The Prize will be just that; a prize!

As of publishing, Hannah Wicklund has just finished being on the road in support of Devon Gilfillian for his North American tour. She is gearing up to support Greta Van Fleet yet again during the upcoming European leg of their Starcatcher World Tour that will last from November through the middle of December. Her upcoming album, The Prize, will be ours on January 12th, 2024.
