LOST HEARTS - ADAM & EVE

Rock music has been on the rise within the last couple years, and slowly the current generation is starting to really put it on the rise again. A band helping to contribute to that, is most certainly Lost Hearts. Based out of Nashville, these guys are just starting their career, yet their songs ignite joy in those looking for modern day rock music.

Though they are smaller, having only 4 songs officially released, they have quite a stage presence; it truly shows they've each grown up with rock influence. From artists like KISS whom they look up to, onto artists they've covered like Blue Oyster Cult, Billy Idol, Blondie, Aerosmith; these guys have a wide range of music tastes which often is evident in the way they release songs. As the lead singer, Max Frye, has said "I think our band has a little bit of everything. 60's, 70's, 80's ... because i think you can't be a artist if you just listen to what you like and nothing else."

Each song is so unique in its own right and the newest release wasn't any different; Adam & Eve which was released on October 27th reaches a newer territory for the band, as it has a more gritty, sensual feel that leaves the listener wanting more. It alludes to the story around its' title; the biblical telling of Adam and Eve. Yet, the meaning of the song digs a bit deeper into the literal side of being in a relationship or situation where the feelings are very strong. It's a song encouraging to just go after those feelings, not worrying about what others say, think or do as a result; to throw away any thoughts of others and to just focus on each other and taking action on some unspoken feelings. With lyrics like:

"Flick of the tongue, rattle the tail, let your inhibitions run"

This shows the metaphorical back-and-forth between the story and the real-life situation it mimics. This specific line is a metaphor for the serpent in the story; being that it was a mischievous character that only had itself in mind. This paired with the line about inhibitions, can be a way of telling the subject of the song that they need to just let go, put themselves first and do what meets their desires. Rather than doing what may be considered "right" or "proper", putting into action what they desire or crave.

Obviously, all songs are open to interpretation so i strongly encourage every reader to go listen for themselves! See what the song means to you, and how it makes you feel! That's the joy of music. While you're at it, there is also a video you can watch as well! It is a live performance of the song, with strong visuals; from the all black outfits, sheer shirts, to the eye-catching level of pyrotechnics used. For being a smaller band, this video has such a high quality feel to it that is truly respectable. It is evident that these guys are passionate about what they do, in all aspects.

Don't forget to stream the song, and tell the guys what you think!
