NATIVE STATE - I WANT YOU

Native State’s I Want You is a head-banger, through their blend of indie rock and hard rock, you can almost feel the soul of rock and roll throughout the tune. Released on May 26th, along with its sister-track Down and Out, this number takes listeners on a journey of desire through its harsh soundscape, lustful lyrics, and captivating melodies.

The Missouri-born band features Logan Cozart on vocals, Vic McClintock on guitar, Everett Remstedt on bass, and Frankie Johnson on the drums. As a group, they have been releasing singles since 2019 with their debut single, Your Fool. They have recently released their first live album, Sex Rock Live on March 17th of this year.

The band’s musicianship is phenomenal, pulling classic rock inspired sound from the best places. I Want You feels like an epic conglomeration of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Dirty Honey, and The Struts, but with the vocals of Tyson Ritter from All-American Rejects. Their precise combination of sounds makes them relatable to people of all ages; the older rock generation, and the newer. One of the most defining key parts of this song is the guitar. The upbeat rocker starts off with a catchy, defining riff. As the lead guitar is joined by drums and rhythm guitar, the song pulls you in. You can’t resist moving yourself to the beat, feeling every intentional accent. The group has gained a lot of love around their local community, and are on their way to becoming an iconic band in the sex rock genre.

Native State is opening for Rock group “Discrepancies” on June 2nd. They also are joining band “Blind Velvet” on June 16th at Red Fish Blue Fish Bar, in St. Charles, Missouri. Next, they are playing with indie rock band “Dream Squeeze” on June 23rd, at Cafe Berlin in Columbia, Missouri. Tickets for both shows can be bought at the door.
