TRISTAN BUSHMAN - EVERY TIME WE’RE ALONE

Tristan Bushman is a front runner in the singer-songwriter genre within the Nashville scene. Being in his early 20's and moving from the small town of Ashton , Illinois--there surely has been an impact in the songs he has released. His latest EP "Every Time We're Alone" came out on November 3rd. It's a project that has been forthcoming as he has slowly released singles over the course of the year, but finally released the self-titled song to complete the set.

This EP is very unique in that it holds many different emotions within the lyrics and instrumentals. Tristan has a very special way of truly making the listener become immersed in the songs. For being only 4 songs, each one provides a different vibe which i find is often hard to make cohesive, yet, he did it quite flawlessly.

"All I Did Was Love You" is a solemn type of song, expressing feelings of being left disappointed or heartbroken in a relationship. It expresses the POV of someone who gets left behind or thrown aside and shows the feelings that happen inside someone's head. It is very relatable, as everyone knows what heartbreak feels like. I think it is a very personable start to the EP and does well at catching the attention of the listener as it makes them reminisce and think over their own situation or feelings.

"Every Time We're Alone" has a bit of a happier tone to it; the instrumentals alone have a more upbeat, energetic feeling to them. This song goes through the situation of going back to an ex or someone from your past. It focuses on that feeling of not being able to stay away from a person, or always having them on your mind; finding yourself running back to them even when you shouldn't. This is one of those situations where Tristan does a very excellent job at conveying the strong emotions of a relationship like that, yet makes the music side of it so catchy and upbeat--- causing you to want to dance and sing along, until the lyrics finally sink in.

"Hangin' Around" is a track perfect to bring the vibe back down a bit. This differs from the first track, where the person gets left behind, whereas this one stems from a situation where said person has messed up and caused their loneliness. Everyone has those moments of saying things they may not mean; that's what this song is based around. The moment you say something to a significant other that you know shouldn't have been said. This POV comes afterwards, as the reminiscent moments arise, and memories start to cloud your mind---missing the person and noticing things that were so simple before yet now are completely different.

"Scared To Love You" is the best track he could have ended the EP with. Once again, as i said, this project is a roller coaster of emotions. It takes you through every stage of feelings that love can bring. This song rounds out the project well, as it kind of gives a solution to the whole idea. The songs before it take you through breakups, hardships, regrets and heartache; yet this song brings the sense of hope and happiness. It's theme is finding someone new to love; finding someone after the sadness, that brings yourself back and makes you feel like you again. Trust is the most important thing to have, and this song expresses the struggle that can come with letting down your walls; but overall feeling so happy once you're able to.

Overall, it truly is a beautiful EP and Tristan is sure to release even more emotionally-invested, beautiful songs! This review is my own interpretation on the project, but as usual, i highly recommend you go listen and see what you get from it! Music is so beautiful in that we all can relate in our own way, so definitely give it a listen!! I will, also, leave all of Tristan's socials below so you can go support him and his journey!
